I have a 1945 set of Ludwig drums with mother of pearl Bass,
Floor Tom, Tom, Snare (Stainless with Gut, Wire, Gut and Wire
or Tom), High Hat, Original symbols (2) and high hat. It also
has a block and Bell. The Base has the additional mounting
bracket and even the original drum chair. The heads are
calf skin and I believe the drum case's are also in tact
and made of elephant skin.
This was the Johnny Ensminger Band (Swing in the 40's, Big band)
out of Providence R.I. There is even a picture of the band with
the set. I would not sell this set to God or any other greater
power. I would love to have an idea about the value.
The only thing with the set is that there is all hardware but
it is pig metal, pitted and a few pieces may be broken. I intend
to leave all pieces in original and would love to know of a source
(if it exists) where people with old kits have spare parts. I may
have to replace some of these and definitely would prefer older
pieces.

PS DO you sell Cuban Bata Drums? Would you be interested in Bata
or Congas from Cuba. I have a partner in Havana that has access
to these at Cuban prices, handcrafted by master drum makers there.
